All about Simpsons Guitars

Our history.. Simpson’s has been running in one format or another since 1936. We began as Gordon Simpson’s operating for many years from Stafford Street in the heart of Edinburgh’s West End. From the outset, we served not only the local musical community but customers from all over the UK. We still hear our name mentioned in certain circles, usually followed by “Oh yes, bought my first guitar there…” We can only hazard a guess at some of the musical projects we had a hand in launching!

Times change, environments change and our shop closed its doors in 2006. However, we had begun to establish ourselves online and new ideas beckoned…

Today.. We already had a website and a flourishing Ebay presence with an excellent track record, so we decided to begin by building on that. Shortly after, we branched out into Amazon UK.

However, we were still largely supported by UK wholesalers.

In 2008 we made the decision to contact manufacturers directly. Between us, our team accumulated over 50 years buying experience and wanted to channel that knowledge into selecting quality products. The benefits for our customers are immense. Not only do we have a vast and consistent supply of stock, there is no middleman, you can buy at amazingly low prices prices. It was exciting to meet and establish trading relationship with firms on the other side of the world. We now have dedicated warehousing and despatch offices set up to get your orders to you as quickly as possible

From here.. In 2010, we began working with a local web design firm to overhaul our website, it’s an ongoing project! Only last year, we successfully expanded our Amazon trading activities to include France and Germany (selling in French and German) It’s exciting to see the response to our products and despatch them world wide We make regular buying trips overseas to maintain our links with our suppliers and meet new ones.

Also, we regularly attend guitar shows all over the UK. If you happen to spot us there, please come and say hello, we’ll be delighted to meet you!
